Can I get married at Odd Rode?

Getting Married

Since 2008 it has been easier than ever before to get married in a church other than in the parish where you live. However, in order to do so, you must be able to prove that you are entitled to do so. Below is a list of reasons why you might be considered eligible for marriage in our parish.

  1. My Connection is that I was baptised in the parish (by a Church of England service/form of baptism)
  2. My connection is that I have been confirmed (by a Church of England service) and my confirmation is entered in a register belonging to a church or chapel in the parish
  3. My connection is that my parent or grandparent was married in the parish by a Church of England service
  4. My connection is that I have had my usual place of residence in the parish for at least 6 months - This can apply whether or not you are still resident in the parish
  5. My connection is that my parent has had his or her usual place of residence in the parish for at least 6 months during my lifetime -This can apply whether or not your parent(s) is/are still resident in the parish
  6. My connection is that I have habitually attended public worship at Church of England services in the parish for at least 6 months – This can apply whether or not you are still attending worship in the parish
  7. My connection is that my parent has habitually attended public worship at Church of England services in the parish for at least 6 months during my lifetime - This can apply whether or not your parent(s) is/are are still attending worship in the parish

Before you complete the form you may wish to speak to the Rector or email him to discuss whether you may have a claim to be married in the parish. The current fees are listed below. Note that these are only correct until December 31st of the present year and are subject to change after that.

Once you have completed the application form you will need to supply further details about yourselves on the Banns Application Form. These forms can be emailed to the Rector if you wish and signed when you visit the Rectory for your first interview.
